Abstract

1342504 Web coating apparatus STORK AMSTERDAM NV 23 April 1971 [26 April 1970] 11186/71 Heading D1L [Also in Division B2] Coating material is applied to a substrate by means of an apparatus having a thin-walled screen cylinder 1 which is fed from the inside with coating material and has a squeegee 3 mounted therein. Coating material from a feeding device 10 passes down a distributing plate 11 and is pressed through the cyclinder 1 by a hydraulic or pneumatically urged squeegee 3. A counterpressure roller 12 is provided to produce an even coating on the outside of the cylinder 1. A second feeding device 14 may be provided and a second squeegee 4 may be located at the point of contact of the substrate 8. The substrate is fed in the opposite direction to that of the direction of movement of the cylinder in the coating zone.
