Abstract
1341072 Arylimino-thiazolidines BAYER AG 19 April 1971 [15 April 1970] 26505/71 Heading C2C Novel compounds of general formula in which R denotes a phenyl radical substituted in the 2-position or the 2,6-positions, which can carry at least one further substituent selected from C 1-4 alkyl groups and halogen atoms, or denotes a 1-naphthyl or 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-1- naphthyl radical, and R<SP>1</SP> denotes a straightchain or branched C 1-4 alkyl radical, or a straight-chain or branched C 3-5 alkenyl radical which is optionally substituted by one or more halogen atoms, and salts thereof may be prepared by one of the following methods: (a) a thiourea of formula where Y represents OH, halogen or a sulphonic acid radical, is cyclized optionally in the presence of a strong acid; (b) a thiourea of formula R<SP>1</SP>NHCSNHR is reacted with a 1,2-dihaloethane; (c) an arylamine RNH 2 is reacted with a 2 - thiono- or 2 - imino - thiazolidine; or (d) a 2 - arylamino - #<SP>2</SP> - thiazoline is reacted with a reactive ester of an alcohol R<SP>1</SP>OH; the product from each process optionally being converted into a salt. The novel compounds exhibit acaricidal properties.
