1,127,993. Piperazine derivatives. CASSELLA FARBWERKE MAINKUR A.G. 30 June, 1967 [2 July, 1966], No. 30330/67. Heading C2C. Novel piperazine derivatives of the general formula and salts thereof, wherein R stands for an alkyl radical having 1 or 2 carbon atoms, R 1 means hydrogen or an alkoxy radical having 1 or 2 carbon atoms, and A 1 and A 2 represent straight or branched chain alkylene radicals containing 1-4 carbon atoms, and A 2 may be substituted by a methoxy radical are obtained (a) by reacting a trialkoxy benzoic acid having the general formula or a functional derivative thereof, with an alcohol having the general formula if desired in the presence of an acid-binding agent, or (b) by condensing a trialkoxy benzoic acid haloalkyl ester having the formula wherein Hal represents a halogen atom, with a piperazine derivative having the general formula if desired in the presence of an acid-binding agent or (c) by reacting an alkali metal salt of a trialkoxy benzoic acid having the general formula with a piperazine derivative of the general formula Pharmaceutical compositions having coronary dilatory activity and containing the above compounds are administered orally or parenterally.
