1340791 DC-DC convertors SOC ALSACIENNE DE CONSTRUCTIONS ATOMIQUES DE TELECOMMUNICATIONS ET D'ELECTRONIQUES 11 Jan 1971 [9 Jan 1970] 1293/71 Heading H2F In a voltage converter comprising a transistor 13 having feedback between windings 12<SP>1</SP> and 12<SP>111</SP>, the output being provided by rectifying at 14 the output of a further winding 12<SP>11</SP>; the output voltage is regulated by means of a field effect transistor 16 (or photo-cell) connected in the base circuit of transistor 13. As described, during each cycle, the collector current of transistor 13 built up to a value such that the base current is insufficient to maintain the transistor 13 in saturation. A turn-off process then becomes initiated after which a further cycle commences. The output voltage V4 is regulated by means of FET 16 which determines the time at which transistor 13 is brought out of saturation. If the load circuit includes a light source, FET 16 may be replaced by a photoresistor. The invention is applicable to converters deriving energy from a nuclear heat source or a solar source and may be applicable for use with heart stimulators.
