Abstract

1340074 Optical projection apparatus MOLINS Ltd 11 Jan 1971 [9 Jan 1970] 1194/70 Heading G2A An apparatus for testing the accuracy of the wrapping of a cigarette includes a projector having a light source (not shown) a frame 1 for holding the wrapper and a number of lenses 12, 13 movable so that any one of them may lie in the path of the light from the source which has passed through the wrapper. The image from the projector is then viewable upon a screen which may be of ground glass and receives the light from the projector via a reflex reflecting system, Fig. 2, (not shown), The projector, reflector system and screen being contained in a single housing (20). In the projector the wrapper is sandwiched between plates 3,4 the latter being pivotable about 5 away from the former, but held against it by compression springs 6 (only one shown). Lenses 12, 13 are both mounted on joined plates 11 which are connected to slide 8 on rails 9. Screws 9a provide limits to the traverse of the slide 8. Movement between these limits is caused by rotation of rod 18.
