Abstract
1,021,235. Stereoscopic cine projection apparatus. K. KOHLER. Oct. 22, 1962 [Oct. 23, 1961; Jan. 17, 1962], No. 39832/62. Headings G2E and G2J. A stereoscopic cine projector comprises two optical systems with side-by-side optical paths, pairs of drive sprockets and guide rollers 34, each pair being mounted on a separate common shaft, whereby two endless films are synchronously projected by means of a common drive, the projector being enclosed in a common housing. Drum shutter 25, film guides 27, 28, and objective lenses 17,18 having crossed polarizing filters are provided. The adjacent sides of condenser lenses 24 and lamp mirrors 23 are ground flat so that optical axes 29, 30 are as close as possible. Blower 41 cools the system. One objective lens is adjustable vertically and the other horizontally for superposition of the projected images. As in Fig. 6 (not shown), a double track 69, 70 closed circuit may be provided on which run pairs of rail cars 71, 72, the rails following a series of S-curves through adjacent compartments 75, 76, &c. each having a separate screen 82 and stereo projector 83 such that a sequence of scenes is viewed. The car wind-screens may have analysing filters, or spectacles may be worn.
