1339902 Shower bases PORTA SHOWERS Ltd 15 Feb 1972 [5 May 1971] 13129/71 Heading A4N A shower base comprises a downwardly-hollow, shaped, body-part 11 reinforced by an at least partical filling in said downwardly-hollow portion of the body-part of a rigid synthetic plastics foamed material formed in situ and engaging a load-bearing wall 11a of the part 11 and having a planar surface 13 for resting on a support surface. The hollow portion may be completely filled, or the filling may be of pocketed or web form. The filling is preferably of closed-cell material such as polyurethane foam. The body part 11 may be vacuum-formed from a sheet of heat-glazed, highimpact polystyrene, or formed by injection moulding. The filling 13 and body part 11 are preferably bonded together.
