Abstract

The container and base plate consist of a foamed thermoplastic material, pref. polystyrene foam. The base plate carries a pair of outwardly projecting parts on one surface which pass through cavities formed in the lower side of the container between adjoining indentations. The hinges are formed by pieces of unfoamed plastic material at the hinge lines. The container and the base plate are connected by at least two spaced apart hinge lines. The container and the base plate form a single unit which can be placed together in a box without difficulty. The base plate acts as reinforcement for the container.
