Abstract

1339895 Filter assembly CROSLAND FILTERS Ltd 19 April 1971 [22 Jan 1970] 3151/70 Heading B1D A filter unit (11), whose casing 12 has an outwardly directed lip 20, is secured to a head 10, having inlet and outlet channels (14, 15), by a wire clip 18 engaging in annular groove 17 formed in the interior of an upstanding annular rim 16 of the head, the two ends of clip 18 being formed into coaxial loops which are urged together by tightening a nut and bolt extending therethrough, to force lip 20 downwards against a ridge 19 on the head and radially inwards of the rim, As shown the casing 12 has also an inwardly directed lip 21, the two lips carrying a resilient gasket 22. Ridge 19 could be of semicircular section. Head 10 could be part of an engine block or a separate member.
