Abstract

1339755 Tyre valves SCOVILL MFG CO 7 Sept 1971 [25 Sept 1970] 45781/70 Heading F2V The pin 9 of an irremovable spring-loaded valve member 11 is guided at its lower end in a bridge having a bar 25 with a pin guiding hole (27) therethrough and spaced from an annular portion which is a press fit in the bore 3 of the insert 1. As shown the annular portion has a cylindrical surface 23 and a tapered surface 19 but two tapered surfaces may alternatively be provided, the edges of the surfaces biting into the wall of bore 3. Bar 25 may be disposed lowermost or uppermost of the bridge but in both cases acts as the lower abutment for the spring 13. Insert 1 may be moulded and made of glass fibre reinforced nylon.
