Abstract

1339451 Releasable fastenings; stays SUNDAW PRODUCTS Ltd 20 April 1972 [27 May 1971 24 July 1971] 17442/71 and 34827/71 Headings E1J E2A and E2F A retaining catch for a hinged door or window has a bracket 11 for attachment to the window or door frame, a resilient stem 13 and a latching head 15 having an abutment face 16 for retaining the window or door in a partly open position. To fully open the window or door the catch is released by flexing stem 13. On reclosing the window or door the edges thereof engage a striking face 17 of the catch to spring the head outwardly so that the window or door is snap-engaged at the part open position or can be fully closed. A channel section recess 16' Fig. 5 (not shown) can be provided to engage a correspondingly shaped projection (23) on a striker plate attached to the door or window to prevent inadvertant deflection of head 15 and stem 13 upon impact of abutment face 16 with the door or window.
