Abstract

1338115 Sewing machine cabinets, tables SINGER CO 17 May 1971 [20 May 1970] 15197/71 Heading A4B and A4H [Also in Division D1] A sewing-machine cabinet having a storage well 15 for a machine 17, a pivoted front flap 19 and a removable well cover insert, (21), Fig.1 (not shown), is provided with a light 47 which may be positioned in the well 15 or may be moved to a position where it can illuminate the working surface of the cabinet whether the machine 17 is in the stored position Fig.4 (not shown) or in an exposed, operative, position Fig.5 (not shown). The light comprises a flexible arm 45 connected to a telescopic post 41 received in a bracket 33 pivoted in a cut out portion 36 of the flap 19. When flap 19 has been raised the post is extended to remove the arm 45 from a storage clip 49 and bracket 33 rotated about its pivot 35 to bring the lamp above the work surface when flap 19 is folded forward. A light switch 40 is provided on the bracket.
