Abstract
1337971 Continuous casting ASHMORE BENSON PEASE & CO Ltd 7 Jan 1971 [7 Jan 1970] 798/70 Addition to 1312243 Heading B3F The SiN body of the partent Specification is an apertured plate 4 held in radial compression by a surrounding metal ring 7 cooled by contact with the mould assembly 1, 2. The plate 4 is sealed to the refractory outlet 10 of the tundish 11 by cement and its aperture is smaller than the mould cavity cross-section. The metal plate 7 is a shrink fit on the SiN plate 4 and is bolted to the steel or copper jacket 12 of the copper mould 1 so that the plate 4 is urged against the mould for cooling and sealing. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,243,778.
