Abstract

1337901 Harvester-thresher DEERE & CO 28 Jan 1972 [28 Jan 1971] 4130/72 Heading A1F The harvester has a device positioned above straw shaker 11 for improving the separation of grain from straw in a cut crop. The device consists of a rotatable pick-up drum 16, driven by shaft 14 via belt 21, with retractable tines 18 which lift the crop from full step 12 and deposit it in front of step 13. At position 23 the tines retract into a space between the drum walls 20 and the crop falls onto the straw shaker. Spring tines 26, which hold down the lifted crop, are connected to an overload warning device which operates when angular deflection α has been exceeded. Pick-up drum 16 is disposed on arms 28 which are lockably positioned about axle 27, and similarly tines 26 are positioned about pivot 29. More than one pick-up drum may be used, and in this case a single drum is positioned at each fall step.
