Abstract
1336036 Magnetic laminations SIEMENS AG 16 Nov 1971 [1 Dec 1970] 53238/71 Heading B3A A method of making a plurality of laminations comprises punching pieces 1, Fig. 1, out of magnetic sheet material, each piece comprising parts 2, 3 which are joined together by narrow connecting portions 4, 5, and separating the parts to form separate laminations by relatively displacing the parts and breaking the connecting portions. The parts 2, 3 are generally L- shaped and between them exhibit recesses 7, 8 and at least one hole 6. When the parts are displaced towards each other a salient portion of part 2 enters hole 6 and parts 10, 11, Fig. 2, no longer contact each other. A sheet of insulating material (9) may be interposed between parts 2, 3 to give the required air gap between the two parts. The holes and recesses in the punched-out piece may be trapezoidal in shape, Figs. 3-5 (not shown), and a sheet of insulating material (24) may also be inserted between the parts. Magnetic core elements assembled from individual parts 2, 3 are generally riveted together after the application of cover-plates and insulating spacing material. The elements may also be joined together by casting resin. Further reinforcement is obtained by dipping the magnetic core elements, after they have been joined together, in casting resin.
