Abstract

1336023 Electro-phoretic deposition YAZAKI CORP 6 Jan 1971[20 March 1970] 587/71 Heading C7B A non-conductive, non-metallic filament 1 of e.g. glass, acrylonitrile, or nylon is formed with an electrically conductive coating by supporting it on electrically conductive members 2 in an electro-depositing coating material comprising 15 to 25% of conductive particles in a resinous carrier, and applying D.C. between the members 2 and an electrode 3 of e.g. carbon. In a modification Fig. 2 (not shown) the filament may pass around conductive pulleys of e.g. graphite and phenol resin. In examples the resin carrier may be a water soluble phenol or melamine and the conductive particles carbon or a mixture of Fe, Fe 2 O 3 , Fe 3 O 4 , and FeO-SiO 2 or a mixture of both.
