Abstract

1402013 Coating fibres with metal SCHLADITZ-WHISKERS AG 4 July 1972 [7 July 1971] 31230/72 Heading C7F [Also in Division H5] Discs or plates of fibres of e.g. glass, quartz or carbon are pressed together between electrodes, and the fibres heated by direct passage of current therethrough, whilst passing metal compound vapour therethrough which decomposes to deposit metal on the fibres. The compound may be a carbonyl of e.g. Fe, Cr, Ni, W or Mo or Pt acetyl acetonate, Pt carbonyl chlorides or dicumene or dibenzene Cr.
