1335802 Releasable fastenings W G MOEHLENPAH 13 Jan 1972 [13 Jan 1971] 1754/72 Heading E2B [Also in Division B4] In apparatus for fabricating wood structures (see Division B4-5) stands 9 are mounted for movement on a track 35. Each stand comprises a head or table 11 rotatable about the upper end of a post 37. A screw clamp 47 enables the table 11 to be secured in a selected rotary position. Work holders 13 are mounted on base plates 49 secured to arms 51, 53 slidable on the table 11. A clamping bar 57 can be urged by an eccentric cam 63, pivotally secured to a vertical rod 65, into clamping engagement with the arms 51, 53 so as to fix the work holders 13 in selected relative positions. Each work holder is pivotable relative to the associated base plate about axis Y-Y, and a cam clamp 81 is provided for clamping the work holder in a selected position. An eccentric 103 (Figs. 7 and 8) pivotally mounted on a frame secured to the base 33 of a stand 9 is rotatable by an overcentre linkage 111-121 to a position in which the surface 107 of the eccentric frictionally engages the outer surface of a rail 89 of the track 35 and a lug 109 secured to the eccentric engages the lower surface of the rail 89 to clamp the latter between the lug 109 and the base 33. A pair of flange members 99 (Fig. 5) engage the other rail 91. This arrangement for securing the stand to the track permits easy removal of the stand when the linkage and eccentric are moved to the inoperative position (Fig. 8).
