Abstract
1335025 Meshing screw compressor HOWDEN GODFREY Ltd 30 Dec 1970 [31 Dec 1969] 63542/69 Heading F1F [Also in Division F4J A meshing screw compressor for use in refrigeration apparatus comprises male and female rotors 1, 2 in a casing 3 having an inlet port 8 and a further inlet passage 9 extending radially of the casing. When used in the refrigeration cycle of Fig. 2 after condensing of the high pressure vapour in the heat exchanger 13 the resultant liquid vapour mixture is passed to a separator 11 before the liquid passes through the expansion valve to the evaporator 12. The separated high pressure vapour is fed by a line 10 to be introduced into the compressor through the inlet 9 at a pressure above normal inlet pressure just after rotor cut-off, i.e. after the normal inlet 8 is closed to provide supercharging of the compressor thus improving its working efficiency.
