Abstract

1334770 Electro-photographic element FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 27 Oct 1971 [31 Oct 1970] 50012/71 Headings G2C and C17C1 An electro-photographic element comprises a resin binder having dispersed therein a mixture of ZnO produced by thermal decomposition of zinc hydroxide or a zinc salt at a temperature below 700‹C. and ZnO produced gas phase oxidation. The mixture provides an element which has a good grey scale and charge acceptance. The pyrolytic oxide is preferably produced by heating the hydroxide, oxalate, acetate or basic carbonate but other salts may be used. The oxides are mixed with styrenated alkyd resin, a polyisocyanate and a mixture of dyes and coated on a polyethylene terephthalate sheet bearing a layer of aluminium. Other resin binders including copoly vinyl chloride-acetate are mentioned.
