Abstract

1334723 Spray carburetters FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 13 Oct 1971 [31 Dec 1970] 47590/71 Heading F1B [Also in Division F2] A dashpot 36 which retards movement of the throttle valve 16 towards its idling position comprises a plunger 50 mounted in a casing 40, 42 and an adjustable nut 98 on the plunger which engages a lip 66 on the casing to set the stroke of the plunger and thus the idling position of the throttle valve. A restrictor 96 in the plunger 50 controls air flow from the chamber 92 to the chamber 94 on inward movement of the plunger and air flows between the plunger and the diaphragm 44 when the plunger is moved outwardly by the spring 90.
