Abstract

1334016 Armoured land vehicle CLOUTH GUMMIWERKE AG 27 Aug 1971 [27 Jan 1971] 40235/71 Heading F3C A land vehicle comprises an armoured body mounted on wheels or tracks and a hood-like shield of fabric reinforced elastic material so mounted on the body that it is spaced from and overlaps a front wheel or the front part of a track of the vehicle. In an embodiment a front section 1, Fig. 1, of a track-driven vehicle has a shield 2 and a metal-reinforced side member 3 provided for a track 9. The shield 2 has inner and outer sides and a front portion. The outer side of the shield 2 is coupled to the side member 3 and is provided with a metal bumper 6 having a front portion 7, Fig. 3. The front portion of the shield 2 is connected to the vehicle by a hinge 4, having a synthetic plastics pin 5 containing lubricant. The front edge of the lower extremity 12, Fig. 1, of the shield 2 is a distance b above the axis of rotation 13 of the wheel. The shield 2 can be retracted to the position shown in Fig. 4, the side portions being deformed and the front edge of the lower extremity 12 being located behind a line 14.
