1,171,168. Releasable fastenings. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. 24 Nov., 1966, No. 52566/66. Headings E2A and E2B. A method of securing a trim member 1 to a vehicle body member 3 e.g. a panel, comprises securing a metal strut 2 having a tapered head to the body member 3 without perforating the body member and snapping the trim member directly over the metal stud to mount the trim member directly on the metal stud. As shown the trim member is of shape with inturned end portions and the end portions engage the steel head. As described the steel is welded to the member 3.
