Abstract

1333375 Dispensing fuel DRESSER EUROPE S A 28 Oct 1970 [29 July 1969] 38108/69 Heading A4T Control apparatus for a fuel-dispensing pump comprises a nozzle arm on which the pump nozzle rests when not in use: a reset motor; an output shaft B driven by the reset motor and effective, after rotation through a predetermined angle, to activate the dispensing pump motor and stop; a switch effective on being switched on to cause the output shaft to be driven by the reset motor, and on being switched off to de-energize the dispensing pump motor; a toggle mechanism L for the switch; a spring U; a lever arm T attached to the spring and coupled to the toggle mechanism L; a cam D driven by the output shaft B and arranged, during, rotation of the output shaft through the predetermined angle (one revolution as shown), to act on the lever arm to stress the spring: the spring being effective on release to trip the toggle mechanism and switch on the switch; and a linkage Db coupling the nozzle arm to release the spring when the nozzle is lifted and coupled to the toggle mechanism to switch the switch off under the weight of the nozzle when the nozzle is replaced after the spring has been re-stressed. Spring J biases the nozzle arm to tend to raise the arm against the weight of the nozzle. A ratchet lock V is provided to prevent switching off before the spring is re-stressed.
