1333340 Trollies SELLING WINGS 18 July 1972 33495/72 Heading B7B A transporter for use with a roll of material, e.g. a carpet, comprises a carrier sleeve 13, which in use extends through the roll, and two trolleys 1, 2 running on castors 3, 4. Each trolley 1, 2 has an upright 5, 6 on which is mounted an arm 9, 10 by means of horizontal trunnions 7, 8. Each arm 9, 10 has a horizontal stubshaft 11, 12, provided with roller bearings, for insertion into an end of the sleeve 13 and an extension lever 19, 20. To lift a roll, the carrier sleeve 13 is placed through the roll and the stub-shafts 11, 12 are inserted into the ends of the sleeve 13 while the arms 9, 10 are in the pivoted-down position (left-hand side of Fig.). Extension levers 19, 20 are now used to pivot arms 9, 10 to the vertical position (right hand side of Fig.) where they may be locked by pins 23. The carpet may be transferred to a support stand comprising e.g. six sleeves rotatably mounted between two A-frames which run on castors (Fig. 1, not shown).
