Abstract

1333005 Workpiece transfer devices L SCHULER GmbH 28 Sept 1971 [3 Oct 1970] 45114/71 Headings B3P B3H and B3Q A device for transferring cupped workpieces from a press comprises an arm 2 with a fork 4 at one end and a three link connection at the other end. One link 10 is connected to a crank driven in synchronism with the press drive and the other links are pivotally connected between fixed points 9, 16 and the arm 2 and link 10 respectively. The fixed points are provided on a plate 8 which is adjustable axially and angularly to change the path of movement of the fork for different shaped workpieces. The workpiece is picked up on the press axis 0 degrees after retraction of the ram and moved along an inclined guide 26 to a slot defined by the guide 26 and an adjustable guide 23. A spring-stop 25 releases the workpieces one at a time on to a conveyer 27. The workpiece may be shaped in the press by extrusion or drawing. The crank drive has an overload cut-out to stop the crank drive if the device is obstructed.
