Abstract

A transporter is provided between the two machine tools, with first moving devices to extract the work from the first machine and bring it into a buffer position. Second moving devices then transfer it from the buffer position into the working position in the second machine. The devices can be in the form of coupled arms on a movable transporter component, equipped with means for both horizontal and vertical movement. Two transporter units can be provided and intercoupled, the first moving horizontally and the second vertically. The work can be transferred along a series of buffer positions, all the transfer mechanisms between them being interconnected.
