Abstract

1332467 Knitting-machines WIRKMASCHINENBAU KARL-MARX-STADT VEB 14 Dec 1970 59331/70 Heading D1C [Also in Division F2] In a straight-bar machine the drive from the main eccentric carrying shaft 4 to the shaft 3 of the draw lever eccentric 1 is transmitted via an epicyclic gear 6. The arrangement ensures impact free acceleration of the eccentric after a narrowing operation. The gear 6 may be mounted on the main shaft as shown, or on the shaft 3. The driving gear 7 rotates with, but is displaceable relative to the main shaft. The cage 9 is freely mounted on the hub of gear 7 and carries three gear pairs 10-11 which mesh with the driving gear 7 and driven gear 12. The drive is transmitted by bevel gears 5. The cage is normally held stationary by an abutment 13 so that the drive is engaged. When narrowing occurs the cage is released, and the shaft slowed by a brake 14. The drive is reengaged by projecting the abutment and impact on it by the cage minimized by a hydraulic shock absorber.
