Abstract

1331682 Triazolo-pyrimidinols GAF CORP 14 June 1971 [17 June 1970] 27801/71 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions C4 and D1] Novel 2 - (4 - styrylphenyl) - 2H - v - triazole [4,5 - d]pyrimidin - 7 - ol compounds of the general formula wherein X is hydrogen or C 1-6 alkyl; Y 1 and Y 2 are selected from hydrogen, C 1-6 alkyl, C 1-6 alkoxy, CN, halogen, and SO 3 M, and Y 3 is selected from H, C 1-6 alkyl, C 1-6 alkoxy, CN, halogen, COOM<SP>1</SP> and SO 3 M<SP>1</SP>, and M and M<SP>1</SP> are selected from H, ammonium, sodium and potassium, are prepared by (i) refluxing a 5 - amino - 2 - (4 - styrylphenyl) - 2H - 1,2,3- triazole - 4 - carboxamide (described in 4651/73) in an excess of a lower alkyl orthocarboxylate in acetic anhydride, or (ii) by the method of coupling a 4-amino-6-hydroxy-pyrimidine with 4-aminostilbene diazo and oxidizing in boiling iydpirne or picoline.
