Abstract

1330965 A dentists chair KALTENBACH & VOIGT 17 Dec 1971 [29 Dec 1970] 58816/71 Heading A4J A dental patients chair in which the seat and backrest are adjustable in height with simultaneous swinging movement of the seat and backrest in a rearward direction such that the head of a patient moves substantially vertically during adjustment comprises inter-connected seat and backrest frames 1, 2 mounted through a linkage 8 on a base 3. The linkage comprises a main support 6 pivotable together with a link 7 about a horizontal axis, the link 7 being pivotally connected to one end of a push rod 5 of a self locking drive unit 4 pivotally mounted about a horizontal axis 4a on the base 3. The main support pivotally connected at its rear end to a horizontal shaft 13 on which the seat frame 1 and a link 12 are mounted for rotation but not relatively to each other, the link 12 being connected to a rod 9 of variable length pivotally connected to the base at 3c, the rod 9 and main support 6 diverging from the rear of the seat.
