Abstract
1329962 Fish tank G F COX 16 Sept 1970 [16 June 1969] 30422/69 Heading A1A In a fish tank, a compartment within the tank is defined by an impermeable wall extending above the water level, with a chamber within the compartment, water flowing into the compartment via communication channels in the bottom of the wall, from the top of the compartment into the chamber and then back to the remainder of the tank. In an embodiment, a false end wall 2 defines the compartment 6 incorporating a filter bed 10. Within, and in communication with the compartment is the chamber 8, in which water treatment apparatus may be housed. Water flows through the permeable false bottom 1 and the filter 10 before returning to the tank by passing over a weir 9 into the chamber and then back into the tank via pipes 12. In another embodiment, the false bottom 1, which could be corrugated is omitted.
