Abstract

<PICT:1048905/C1/1> In the aerobic treatment of sewage in a treatment vessel which is divided into a plurality of compartments by transverse partitions 6 to 9 and weirs 10 to 13, a rotatable horizontal surface aerator 14 causes the sewage to flow through the tank with a substantially spiral movement. The inclined surface 19 of the wall facing the aerator aids this movement.
