1329517 Cathode-ray tubes PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 6 April 1972 [9 April 1971] 15914/72 Heading H1D A combined focusing and deflecting electrode system for a cathode-ray tube comprises three cylindrical electrodes 6, 7, 8, electrode 7 being divided into at least eight mutually insulated segments 9 to 16 to which respective deflecting voltages can be applied in addition to the focusing voltage. The deflecting voltages are related to the desired deflection expressed relative to x, y co-ordinates and to the angular co-ordinate of the relevant segment about the tube axis.
