Abstract

1329073 Slag housings T R JONES J T ROMSETH and W E BENNETT 10 May 1971 13913/71 Heading G5X A housing 25 for a flag and flag staff 30 comprises two rotatable coaxial hollow cylinders 20, 21 with openings 27, 28 accommodating rotating means 34 for supporting the flag staff and holding means 39 such that the staff can be held at positions between a position when the staff is within the housing and a position substantially perpendicular thereto. The cylinder 21 is supported in an annular groove formed by the flange 24 on the cylinder 20. The cylinders can be locked in the closed position. The rotating means comprises a wheel 34 on a two-part adjustable axle supported by a U-shaped bracket. Leaf-spring washers 39 are held by the axle's head 38 and bear against friction blocks which in turn press against the wheel 34 to form the holding means. The staff is held rotatably in the wheel 34 and is preferably of telescopic form.
