1328892 Quarrying apparatus COMPAGNIE DES CIMENTS BELGES 23 Sept 1971 [25 Sept 1970 6 Sept 1971] 44480/71 Headings B8A and B8E [Also in Division E1] An installation for evacuating rocks from a workings to an endless conveyer comprises a chassis 1 movable over the ground of the workings, a carriage 23 movable on a rolling path along the endless conveyer 22, a jib 8 connecting chassis 1 to carriage 23 and comprising a first arm 9 articulated to the chassis and carrying a first endless conveyer 40 which discharges via hoppers 44, 77 on to a second endless conveyer 45 carried by a second arm 10 of the jib, which second arm is articulated on pivots 17, 25 to the first arm and the carriage respectively, conveyer 45 discharging via hopper 78 to conveyer 22, in which pivot 17 is suspended from a structure (i.e. upright 16) supported by the chassis or the carriage and pivot 25 comprises a trunnion mounted in a bearing round a vertical axis, the bearing or trunnion being articulated to arm 10 about a horizontal axis transverse to conveyer 45 and the trunnion or bearing being articulated to carriage 23 about a horizontal axis transverse to conveyer 22, the horizontal axes being in the same plane. In Fig. 10 (not shown) a second jib supports a scoop wheel (114), both jibs being supported by tackles (85, 113). In another embodiment (Figs. 11 and 12, not shown) a vehicle is provided connected to the chassis (or carriage, see Fig. 14, not shown) by a second jib similar to the first.
