Abstract

1328690 Tubular heat-exchange elements SOC ANON DES USINES CHAUSSON 29 Dec 1970 [30 Sept 1969] 61687/69 Heading F4S A tubular heat exchanger 1 has a fluid distributer 5 mounted therein which comprises a V-shaped core formed by a folded sheet to delimit two strip members 6 that flare outwardly with respect to one another against the intended direction f 1 of fluid flow, the strip members being formed to permit fluid flow therepast through passage means of increasing cross-sectional area in the downstream direction to allow substantially equal dissipation of heat along the exchanger. The passage means may be defined by apertures 8 and the strip members have converging side edges which co-operate with the walls of the exchanger to form chambers 9a, 9b, which chambers may differ in total cross-sectional area. The strip members may be of non-conductive material, e.g. a synthetic resin or rubber and be brazed or hooked in position within the exchanger. A turbulator may be mounted at one end of the core.
