Abstract

1328626 Armoured vehicles; armour CLOUTH GUMMIWERKE AG 27 Aug 1971 [1 Oct 1970] 40234/71 Headings F3C and F3X A shield, for wheeled or tracker land vehicles is made of elastic material, in which metal plates 1, Fig. 2 and at least one fabric sheet 2 are embedded. The metal plates 1 have holes 4 therein and have rounded ends. Portions 5 between the metal plates may have the fabric sheets 2 extending inwardly towards the central lane of said plates, incorporate parallel external ribs or have an aperture 7, Fig. 6, with a thickened portion 8 therearound. The shield is provided with a hole 10, Fig. 1, for a connecting link (not shown), a part spherically shaped protrusion 11 which engages the connecting link (not shown) to serve as a catch, a portion 12 which protects the head of a bolt accommodated in the hole 10, a bent metal rod 13, the ends of which are engaged in fabric loops 14, the latter being vulcanized into the shield, an aperture 16, Fig. 1, which serves as a step, a thickened portion 17, having a steel cable embedded therein, and is provided with a thickened portion 19, Figs. 1 and 2, having recesses 20 therein to accommodate the heads of fixing bolts (not shown).
