An armoured vehicle comprising a shell formed, at least in part, by inner 10, 11, 12 and outer 6, 7, 8 shell plates arranged so as to form a hollow space therebetween and profile strips 16, 17, 18 or 19 provided for the connection of adjacent and, where applicable, inner and outer shell plates at the junctions thereof. The profile strips may be hollow or solid and may be connected to the hollow plates by welding. The space between the hollow plates may be filled with radiation protective means.
