1327693 Gearing for stopping machinery; belt tensioning KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDTDEUTZ AG 27 Aug 1971 [31 Aug 1970] 40368/71 Headings F2L and F2Q A "V"-belt tensioning ilder pulley 4 is carried by a lever 5 pivotally mounted on a fixed pin 6 and outwardly spring biased at 7 and additionally adjustably located by an adjusting bolt 8 for correct belt tension to avoid flutter and snatch of the V-belt 2, the arrangement being such that in the event of belt failure, i.e. the V-belt 2 breaks, the idler pulley biasing spring 7 outwardly pivots the lever 5 until an arm 9 thereon operates a device 10 to stop the belt drive. The drive 10 may be a mechanical drive stopping means, the control valve of an hydraulic device or the switch of an electrical device.
