Abstract

1327412 Mechanical interrupters JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 29 Dec 1970 [23 Jan 1970] 3298/70 Heading H1N [Also in Division H2] A combined spring anchorage and electrical connector for a contact breaker assembly for an ignition distributer includes an insulating block 22 which receives the end of the spring 19 from the movable contact 18 and at least one terminal (two terminals, 26, 27, are shown in the drawings), the anchorage clamping the end of spring 19 relative to the contact breaker assembly mounting plate 11 and clamping spring 19 and terminals 26, 27 in electrical contact with each other. Block 22 is resilient and is an interference fit on a tag 21 upstanding from plate 11 and has a recess dividing the block into two parts, one part 22a of which can be bent back to allow the end of spring 19 and the terminals 26, 27, to enter. The end of spring 19 seats in a slot in the face of the larger portion of block 22 facing part 22a and there is an integral part 23 which fits within the end of spring 19, which is slightly proud of the surface to make contact with terminals 26, 27. A projection 25 on the inner face of part 22a engages within terminals 26, 27. Terminal 26 is connected to a capacitor then to the fixed contact 16 and earth, and terminal 27 is connected to a low tension distributer input terminal.
