Abstract

1438849 Electromagnetic contactors WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 28 Sept 1973 [6 Oct 1972] 45425/73 Heading H1N A contactor has its insulating housing 7 and cover interlocked with a contact carrier having a lug 67 which co-operates with resilient arms 87 of a spring member 79 which is mounted in the housing 7 (as in Figs. 6 and 7, not shown) and which in the absence of a projection 77 on the cover 11, has the hooked ends 81 of the arms 87 engaged under the lug 67 to prevent its movement. The coil and core assembly (Fig. 1, not shown) is embedded in epoxy resin in a base part which may be made of aluminium. The contacts of the contactor may be provided with arcing horns and runners within an extinguishing structure (Figs. 1 and 2, not shown).
