Abstract
1515423 Electrical terminal WAGO-KONTAKTTECHNIK GmbH 8 April 1976 [11 April 1975] 14425/76 Heading H2E An electrical terminal comprises a housing 10 of insulating material having an opening 37 for the insertion of an electrical lead, an electrically conductive contact frame 11 (Fig. 6) disposed within the housing 10, and a substantially Z-shaped clamping spring 12 (Fig. 5) within the frame 11 and under compression. The clamping spring 12 urges directly against the frame 11 for clamping a lead passed through the aperture 37 against the frame 11, and is secured within the frame 11 by a projecting portion 23 of the frame 11 engaging portion 24 of the clamping spring 12. As described, the free ends of the spring 12 bear against legs 20, 21 of a U-shaped frame 11, portion 23 which is stamped from the web 22 of the frame 11 having a groove 25 which is engaged by a corrugation 26 in portion 24 of the spring 12. Lateral steps 29 on leg 21 of the frame 11 bear against bend 27 of the contact spring 12 to form a further bearing point and also forms a guide for a terminal tongue 31 of a capacitor 32 which enters through aperture 25a in portion 22 of the frame 11. The frame 11 is held in the housing 10 by snap connection projections 33 on the legs 20, 21 of the frame 11 engaging recesses 34 in the walls 36 of the housing 10. The housing 10 may accept two spaced frames in side-by-side relationship, each having a contact spring 12, there being supported therebeneath in the housing a fuse which is held clamped by the lower legs 20 of the frames 11. More than one lead may be inserted through each aperture 37, a screwdriver inserted through aperture 38 depressing spring portion 18 to allow lead removal.
