Abstract

1408610 Electric watches CITIZEN WATCH CO Ltd 12 Dec 1972 [13 Dec 1971] 57256/72 Heading G3T In order that a battery 2 for an electric watch may stay correctly positioned in a recess 1a in a movement plate 1, even when a battery cover in the back of the watch is removed, at least one resilient holding member 3 is provided which has an arcuate portion 3a and a tongue portion 3b and acts as a contact for one of the battery terminals. The other battery terminal is contacted by a conductive member 5 which in the embodiment of Fig.3 (not shown) is resilient to ensure that, with the battery cover (19) in position, contact is maintained even when the watch is roughly handled. In the embodiment of Fig.5, the battery cover 29a, which is screwed into the watch back 29, is provided with shock-absorbing springs 29c which engage the battery. In a final embodiment, Fig. 6 (not shown) the battery cover directly engages part of the holding member and urges it against the battery.
