Abstract

1,257,902. Two-part couplings. SUWA SEIKOSHA K.K. 8 Jan., 1970 [10 Jan., 1969], No. 1023/70. Heading H2E. [Also in Division G3] A battery mounting for use, e.g. in an electrically powered watch, comprises a base-plate 2 and a case 8 formed with a recess for a battery 1, whose positive terminal has a larger cross-sectional area than its negative terminal. When the battery is inserted correctly, as shown, the negative battery terminal connects with a resilient plate 4 which is insulated from the baseplate 2 by an insulating plate 3. A cover 5 for sealing the recess is provided with an insulating member 7 and two resilient contacts 6 for connection to the positive battery terminal. If the battery is inserted in an inverted position the negative battery terminal is prevented from making connection to contacts 6 by the member 7. The member 7 may be omitted and the resilient contacts 6 arranged so that they connect to the larger positive terminal of the battery if it is inserted inverted and do not connect to the smaller negative terminal.
