1327262 Feeding record tapes MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 10 Sept 1970 [18 Sept 1969] 43444/70 Heading G5R The detection of a marked (e.g. transparent, reflective or conductive) portion of a running tape causes the generation of an electrical signal which is differentiated to produce a second signal of which a unidirectional component is used to control (e.g. stop) the tape drive. The control may be effected by means of a relay energized by the output of a pulse amplifier or a multivibrator. A transparent or reflective portion of tape may be detected by a phototransistor.
