Abstract

1325793 Brushgear for dynamo-electric machines ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 19 April 1971 [21 March 1970] 24825/71 Heading H2A A carbon brush for an electrical machine has a blind bore 14 extending towards the contact surface of the brush and containing a spring- loaded insulating peg 18, the base 17 of the bore being concave so that, in use, when the brush has worn sufficiently the peg will suddenly emerge and lift the brush off the commutator slip ring. A cylindrical (20, Fig. 1) or frusto-conical (120, Fig. 4, not shown) flange prevents the peg being completely ejected. A brass dove tailshaped spring-retaining cap 9 on the top of the brush is soldered to side surfaces 7, 8 of the brush and to a lead 11.
