Abstract

1325008 Food storage BRITISH OXYGEN CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [13 March 1970] 12234/ 70 Heading A2D [Also in Division F4] A food storage container comprises an inner product container 3 spacedly mounted within a thermally insulated outer casing 1 and means (not shown) for passing a refrigerant fluid around the outerspace between the container and casing so as to directly cool the outer surface of the container and an inlet (not shown) leading to the product container for introducing thereto an atmosphere of chosen composition. The refrigerant may pass from and return to a refrigerator, the outer casing has double, thermally insulated doors forming one wall of the casing, the insulation. The container may preserve strawberries cooled to a temperature of 4‹C and maintained in a gas mixture of 2% oxygen, 0.2% carbon dioxide and remainder nitrogen.
