Abstract

1324738 NPN supplements AFRICAN EXPLOSIVES & CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 Oct 1971 [21 Oct 1970] 47677/71 Heading A2B [Also in Division C2] A non-protein nitrogen supplement for ruminant feeds containing predominantly biuret comprises a mixture of autocondensation products of urea, obtained by heating at between 125 and 180‹C. finely divided urea dispersed in an inert liquid containing a surface active agent in an amount of 0.01 to 1.0 per cent m/m of the initial quantity of urea, the reaction being conducted with continuous stirring in a vessel having a smooth surface for a period of time sufficient to convert at least 90% of the urea to products. The mixture may also contain triuret and cyanuric acid.
