Inclined belts forming a trough; troughing- rollers for belts; driving-gear; guiding; idler rollers. - An elevator for sand, grain, &c. comprises smooth endless belts h, h<1> arranged to form a trough. The belts pass around pulleys a, a<1> driven through bevel-gears and a gear f on a shaft e and around idle pulleys b, b<1>. The belts are guided by angle-irons j, j<1>, k, k<1> supported by frames o mounted on girders g, g<1>, and are directed on to the lower pulleys by rollers i, i<1>. If the elevator is of considerable length, additional support for the belts may be supplied by rollers l. These rollers and the angle-irons may be replaced by plates of sheet iron or wood.
