Abstract
1324340 Clocks and watches OMEGA LOUIS BRANDT & FRERE S A 27 Oct 1970 [13 Nov 1969] 50936/70 Heading G3T An arrangement for obtaining a rotary drive for a timepiece from an oscillating body 7, Fig. 1, comprises a ratchet wheel 9 and pawls 10, 11 all of which are carried by the body 7, the ratchet wheel being movably mounted relatively to the pawls so that it is stepped around thereby when the body 7 changes its direction. The ratchet wheel 9 is coupled magnetically to a wheel 12 which is part of the timepiece train and has a fixed axis of rotation 13. The body 7 is carried by a vibratory arm 6 and includes a magnetized hole shoe 1. Vibrations are maintained by co-operation with a fixed coil 2 which is mounted on a core 3 having an electric oscillator circuit in its interior. A similar pole shoe 1 may be carried by a second vibratory arm 6 in a symmetrical arrangement. Preferably the body 7 carries an hermetically sealed sleeve 37, Fig. 4, on the base 36 of which are mounted a ratchet wheel 33 and pawls 31, 32. The sleeve 37 may be filled with a gas or liquid such as silicone oil. The position of pawl 31 may be adjusted by rotating an eccentric screw 41 to deflect resilient arm 34. An alternative method is shown in the case of the pawl 32 which is carried by a frictionally mounted arm 35. The ratchet wheel 33 has a hub portion 46 which is magnetized to co-operate with a wheel positioned outside the sleeve 37. The hub portion 46 contains a hole which is larger than the diameter of a retaining pin (48), Fig. 5 (not shown) to permit the necessary movement of the wheel 33. The ratchet wheel may alternatively be fixed to an axle (64), Fig. 7 (not shown) which is mounted with play and the displacement of the wheel may be limited by stops in the form of sleeve walls (71, 72), Fig. 8 (not shown).
